Failure is not Fatal, Unless you picked the wrong knife.
Wow, I'm impressed! My wife ordered this for my father's day present. I write about 1 review per 50 items ordered. BTW, This is NOT a paid or discounted deal for a review either. I love knives and I have probably more, than one person should actually have. Of all the knives I own, this is now my favorite. I've come close to purchasing a large tracker knife many times, but they've always been too long and too big to actually carry every day. Here in Oregon, you can carry a fixed blade knife just about anywhere, no matter the length. Problem is, if it is too large, people get scared and will call the police on you. Especially since some nut stabbed 3 people on the Max a few weeks ago. This is just the right size. Easy to get to, easy to see for the police to see so they don't think I'm trying to conceal a weapon, but the sheath covers it just enough to prevent the general public from freaking out on you.Why pick D2 Steel over Damascus? Although Damascus steel is beautiful, I've found that the Damascus steel on most knives is going to be hard to keep rust free and take care of. There are 3 different types of Damascus steel blades, two of which are cheaper Damascus steel. Think low quality, $40 Kill Bill Bride reproduction sword or NICER Moorhaus Damascus Tracker knives which are mid to higher quality Damascus). Then there is high-quality Damascus Steel. Think Hattori Hanzo type steel. But, like I said, it's expensive and it still rusts if not properly cared for. High Quality Damascus blades are easily going for hundreds of dollars just for a small knife blank.D2 Steel is a new innovative Advanced High Strength Steel. It's about 10 to 15 points harder than the midline Damascus you see on Amazon. D2 doesn't rust easily, as it is a near stainless steel. You don't need to oil it to store it, it will keep a very sharp edge for a long time like Damascus. As you can see from the photos I've included, it is just the right size for work, protection or throwing. It's strong, sharp and rugged, but looks nice and doesn't attract a lot of attention like a 15" knife would.I was worried about the sheath, but it is a nice strong leather sheath with mounting straps. My first hack was to remove the holding strap with the snap. The knife sits very well in the sheath without it and even if I turn it upside down and shake it, the knife doesn't slip out. That's what I was looking for. If I need a knife, the last thing I want to do is try to unsnap something that the blade could get caught on or make noise unsnapping it. I wear it mostly over my belt buckle and to the right instead of on the left, full cross draw style. This gives me easier access and a draw that looks natural and doesn't call attention when I draw it. I highly recommend this knife and all of the Moorhaus product.

A quality knife
I have more expensive knives.,but this knife is very well made, and will go into my pack. For what I paid for the knife (on a promotion) it was very will worth it. Even at full cost, if you are into bushcraft, give this knife a look. I don't think you will be disappointed.

Nice knife and it doesn’t cost $250
This knife is bad ass looking and comes sharp. I haven’t hacked down a tree or skinned a boar so I can’t speak to that but it is bad ass. The sheath is nice but I think it’s set up for a left handed draw.

Great blade, feel and balance
Great blade, feel and balance. Steel appears to be consistent through out and maintains a good edge. Not keen on the sheath, but really enjoy the knife.

$14 duties paid. Canadian Customer
Beautiful knife for the price. Subtle imperfections on the blade and handle are easily to overlook when comparing price, functionality and perhaps this is a lifetime blade. Very satisfied with the purchase. Also to note, I had a shipping delay and the seller had no issues helping me through this. Will look at Moorhaus for future purchases!
