Worked for a while, but not a long term solution
I bought this to switch between my personal and work PC while working remotely. I'd sometimes have connectivity issues, but they were generally rare. Now it disconnects constantly and due to the nature of my work I can no longer utilize it since I need constant connectivity during certain video calls. It worked for 2+ years, so I guess it was worth the money, but it's nowhere near as good as just manually plugging and unplugging your USB devices.

Simple way to switch keyboard/mouse between two computers.
My work laptop and my personal desktop are both connected to my monitor, and running two keyboards and mice (that got old quick) or plugging/unplugging my USB hub between computers, was an annoyance. This simple device gives me a quick switch and my desk is now de-cluttered with one mouse and keyboard. My only nitpick is that the little lights on top of the switcher that shows what PC is connected are very small and almost impossible to see unless you look straight down at it. Otherwise, the USB switches over in a few moments when I press the button and I can run both computers at the same time. The switcher itself feels solid, and it came with the two USB 3 cables that connect the two computers. It does have the ability to connect to AC power but does not come with an AC adapter. I assume that is for USB devices that take more power, like hard drives maybe? It is working fine switching my wireless mouse and gaming keyboard without external power.

Good for more than keyboards and mice
So far I've been very happy with this product. Most of the reviews mentioned sharing keyboards and mice. I currently have a work laptop and my Surface Pro hooking into a Thinkpad docking station, so they share keyboard, mouse, monitor, video camera, speakers, an external hard drive, a printer, and a cd rom drive. I wasn't sure that it would manage all that, but it works great, and I didn't have to use the optional power plug. It's so nice to be able to just push a button instead of moving wires all the time. I find myself switching between the two a lot more than I did before. The only downside is that going directly into the docking station, I was able to attach using the USB-C port on my Surface Pro 7, leaving the USB-A slot available for other things. No matter what I tried, I couldn't get it to connect using a USB A to C cable. It's a small price to pay though for the convenience.

Works great- haven't noticed any input delays
Using this to swap my keyboard/mouse between Desktop PC for gaming and work Laptop dock during the day. The work from home situation making this more common (basically daily) made manually swapping the cables a real pain!Haven't noticed any real input delays to speak of. and it's easy to swap the output destination by pressing the button. The only real complaint is that it was slightly more expensive than other potential options and the Light to see which input is active is hard to see with it sitting flat on my desk--I have to hold my hand above it to see the light on my hand. Would've liked to see an LED/pipe protruding out of the top so it could be seen from many angles.

Just What I Needed
I've only had this for a couple of days, but it functions as expected and is exactly what I needed. I switch between two laptops frequently during the day and there is barely (not really noticeable at all) lag when switched (no lag with the mouse that I've noticed). I only run my keyboard and mouse off of it, but I've not had any issues with it. There was a concern with a similar product that if you didn't move your mouse or press a key after switching, then it wouldn't recognize the peripherals after a little time. I've tested this and have not had this issue with this one. I went with this one mainly because it was slightly cheaper and still had some good reviews. I've been very satisfied with it so far. If anything changes, I will update my review!

Looks nice. Works good enough.
I like the sleek design and it looks nice sitting on my desk. It works and serves it's purpose. Two issues that remove 1 star: 1) The blue light that indicates which device is active is not bright enough to see from an angle. 2) Periodically I have to unplug the usb cable and plug it back in for the computer to recognize something is attached. Don't have to do it too often, but it's somewhat annoying.

Exactly what I needed
Got this to share a keyboard and mouse between two computers, Windows 10 desktop and MacBook Pro (which also shares a dual monitor setup). This works flawlessly. Clicking the button switches between the two computers in about 1 second. I haven’t had any issues repeatedly switching back and forth between the two.The unit comes with two usb cables that connects to your two computers. It doesn’t come with a cable for self powering but it’s not needed for keyboard and mouse setups. There’s many devices like this out there. I chose this one because this one looked the most subdued, without unnecessary decals or labels. My only nit is that I wish the unit was a bit heavier so that it would stay in place. No big deal though, I’m pretty happy with it.

Finally determined that this unit was causing system crashes on both systems
I bought and used this unit in June of 2020, to switch my keyboard and mouse between two desktop PCs running Win10 x64 (my monitor input was switching between two inputs for the two PCs) instead of a KVM, to save money on an expensive DisplayPort or HDMI KVM.Well, I was having USB issues that I only really noticed with my main PC. In August, I upgraded that system (the other PC remained the same) and kept using this Cateck switch. I still had USB related issues which were sometimes causing the system to freeze and black screen and while gaming, the same thing that was happening with my previous build.Forward to 2021, after removing the Cateck USB 3.0 switch, and my newly rebuilt system finally no longer has the USB related crashing, it is more responsive to input, and I am writing this review to help with product development and/or warning consumers to be mindful that if they are having USB related issues or crashes, beware that this device may cause them.1 star for it technically functioning for 6 months, and 1 star for including quality cables.
