Great retro looking 70ās portable radio cassette player
Item was delivered really quickly. (Thank you)Took a chance mainly because of looks and price. The item arrived as a KNSTAR FP-319 UDespite a lot of negative reviews, I found my example to be in a great condition. It plays my cassettes at the correct speed (with no wow and flutter) The radio reception is strong and clear ( where Iāve got it positioned in my kitchen. ) Iāve still to try the USB and SD card features as I bought it mostly for the radio / cassette function(s) which it does really well. The auto stop (cassette) function is for playback only - NOT for rewind/fast forward (which is in keeping with portables of their time !)Sound quality is clear- but no extremes of bass and treble ,ie midrange frequencies. All in all I give it 5 stars. Iām REALLY PLEASED with it.(If you wanted to release a deluxe version of this radio cassette player - at an extra retail price of, say, Ā£40 - Ā£50Iād love it to have a tone control , a tape counter and a backlit radio display.) IāD DEFO BUY IT !!Just an idea !All in all - a GREAT item.

Great sounding, retro look!
Extremely pleased with this great little unit. Superb retro look, but with the added benefit of MP3 play via USB or SD card. Sound quality is excellent, plenty of power, it would fill a good size room without distortion. Good radio reception even includes short wave for those obscure stations. The tape player is adequate as it does exhibit some wow and flutter especially when playing slower instrumental music. No worse than any other though as unfortunately these tape transport mechanisms are manufactured by one company based in China and are built down to a price. All in all though an excellent solidly put together, good looking, good sounding old school player.

Awful - Truly awful
This 'retro' radio cassette player seemed too good to be true at under £30 with radio (not DAB), USB/SD playback of MP3 files and cassette and ... it is!The casing is incredibly cheap and nasty. Push any part of it and it gives. The cassette door, supposedly damped eject needs a helping hand to open every time. Then there's the noise from the cassette mechanism. I suppose if you only play jungle music on this thing you won't hear the racket, but if you are a little more subtle (in fact the type of person who would buy this retro device) then you will hear the noise. Also, the wow and flutter is terrible. Listen to any track which holds a note and it goes up and down like a yo-yo!Now for some other points: the SD card slot doesn't work at all, so your only option is the USB port. The battery compartment door doesn't close flush with the back of the unit and, as somebody else has pointed out, the "microphone socket" on the top of the unit is just a hole. That's right, nothing at all is connected to it inside the unit. It is just a drilled hole with the word "MIC" next to it. There's only one nation on earth that can design and build such a piece of garbage and get away with selling it to us western idiots. You guessed it. Obviously sent it back!
