I've tried many brushes and combs, from plastic to wooden on my hair. Almost all of them would cause breakage. This brush is gentle on the scalp and I haven't found one broken strand as of yet. Since it's wooden, I would make sure to detangle the hair with your fingers first. It prevents any tugging from the bristles. I have thick, wavy, long (tailbone) length hair. As for my daughter, she has straight, fine, medium length hair. It works even better on hers. The brush just glides through. It's expensive but definitely worth every penny. I use regular dish soap to wash it.

I bought a tek brush a while back and now I don't want to go back. I bought this one as a gift. It is s tad small but perfect for travel or shorter hair.

It was smaller than expected. Good brush but nothing mind blowing. I hope to see improvements in my hair as I use it.

I bought this brush after speaking with multiple stylists that claimed a wooden brush is better for the hair and well worth the price. I chose TEK, because I was raised with the understanding that Italian craftsmanship was first class especially when it comes to handmade goods. Sadly, I've been mislead. First, when they say 'small,' they mean tiny. I was very shocked by the diminutive size of this brush. It takes some adjustment to wield it effectively without dropping it, but since I have very fine hair, I was willing to give it a shot. It still takes 3X as long to brush out my hair now, because toy of a brush just doesn't provide enough coverage. On top of that, the pins are also extremely fragile. This brush is kept on my bedside table inside the TEK bag. It's never been shoved in a crowded purse or slammed into a countertop or dropped on a hard surface. Even so, In less than a year, the pins have started snapping in two from daily use. This brush was a huge disappointment in ever way and NOT WORTH THE PRICE.

Overpriced for the service it has given me. Purchased November 2022. It’s July 2023 and the bristles have started to break off. I am specific about how I brush my hair, gently & from the bottom so this brush shouldn’t be breaking down this quickly. I loved that this brush is so much better for my hair than a plastic bristle brush. I can absolutely feel the difference in hair health. But I don’t recommend it based on durability/value for cost.
