This is a great beginner friendly kit - the carving tool is very comfortable and the blades that come with it work well - the basic version comes with 2 lino, a roller, ink and the carver, basically everything you need to start. There are multiple tips for the carver also.It was really easy to get started - I'm a first timer making prints and I found it really easy. The lino provided is also super soft and easy to cut - in my case I made a stamp and was able to easily cut around my design with scissors if you needed to do that. The rolled rolls great and really smooth, and the lino ink seems to be of okay quality as well. You get a lot for your money, not sure of the longevity of it but it is made in the UK which is good, and the price makes it a loss less intimidating to get started.

Found the set easy to use and it's really good value. Recommended.

Good starter set for beginners

Great little kit which has everything you need for starting out with lino cutting. Some of the items aren't of the highest quality but as I would expect for an entry level kit and still provides you everything you need to create some great pieces.

Wanted to get back into printmaking. This kit was really good for that and would be great for beginners. You’ll probably go through the lino sheets quite quickly, especially if you’re making mistakes, so worth ordering a few more of those, but a great product!

The quality of materials was really good for all the family. The children loved it (they need supervising with the cutting tool) but both my ten and seven year olds enjoyed all the processes- and their end result. The ink is not too messy and washes off hands and table (!) easily! Really good value for money - this is a taster kit but we are very happy with the results and now have a piece of lino to make endless prints. We were left wanting more and will be purchasing larger kits now we have the confidence to design, cut and print!

It’s a great starter kit - bought as a gift, however the box was opened and squashed (tape seal cut, not delivery damage) I expected it to be unopened as it is a new product delivers I believe on behalf of Cowling and Wilcox a reputable art materials supplier. I can’t give that as a gift.

This set has everything you need to have a go at lino printing: a fine cutting blade, a broader cutting blade, two lino samples, ink and a roller. For my first print, I copied a chrysanthemum onto the lino and cut it out. This is my second ever attempt as an adult (I'm not showing you the first!)Actually made in the UK, too.
