MINGER Alexa LED Strip Lights [Energy Class A++]

We were looking for some accent lighting for our extension but also wanted something that worked with our buy in to Alexa and ideally we could have a bit of a disco for the kids.Took a bit of a punt on these as they were a sensible price and offered everything we needed. And we haven't been disappointed. THe video shows them set out in the kitchen before install (sorry privacy). This was done in a dark room with lights off, and these lights can be really bright to fill the room.The sound reactive modes work really well. Various modes pules or scan based on the beat and music playing. Love this mode as do the kids. The steady lighting is also good, with subtlety and an incredible array of colour options.Alex integration works well and easy to setup.The lights come with various sticky pads and alcohol wipe, however I used some normal kids wipes first to clean up my picture rails. They've stuck down really well so far. Corners can be a bit tricky to curve around but a bit of fiddling and they were hidden quite well if you didn't know they were there.

Updated review: I've had these strip lights for 6 months now, which puts me into a position of writing a credible review.These lights, for the price, are the best on the market and provide tremendous value for quality and functionality.Installation and set up is easy and seamless and the strip has strong adhesive which won't fall off or move.The range of programming and light combinations (scenes) work very well for all moods and environments and everything synchs well with Alexa voice commands.The Govee app is easy to use and well designed and with a whole control panel of functions. Govee also support their products with a customer support team who reply and assist to emails in a very fast and efficient manner.I would definitely recommend this strip light and Govee products, simply for the quality, brand reputation and support provided.

East to install (just be aware you’ll need to use your 2.4 and not your 5.0 WIFI network band). Easy adhesion with sufficient connectors. Love the ability to connect to Alexa, and she changes colours, switches on and off and dims on voice command. Great fun, effective and good value for money.

The media could not be loaded. This is the second time I’ve purchased smart LED lights off Amazon. The first was a couple of years ago, which were just RGB. Technology has certainly advanced since then. The Govee dreamcolour strip allows multiple colours to feature at the same time which makes for an impressive show.I will point out this is limited to Bluetooth functionality, but this is a limitation of Alexa, not the device, maybe this will be improved in the future.I will point out the device illuminates from the centre of the strip so measured this and mounted this at the top centre of my tv and then stuck down from there.This device is incredibly bright and appears really well made.Edit: 20/11/2019 - I've removed 1 star, for now, this is due to the fact Govee (and their app) doesn't support IFTTT. I did, however, reach out to them for feedback and they've advise they will be on the platform next year (2020.)IFTTT is a free, web-based service that allows you to connect your apps to each other from various devices so they talk to each other and cause automated actions.IFTTT stands for "If This Then That," where "This" represents a primary app and "That" represents a secondary connected app. When an action takes place on the primary app, the secondary connected app is automatically triggered to also take some sort of action.A much-needed function of any smart home enthusiast.

I'd never heard of these until I saw them at an event a few weeks ago. Lights on a strip of tape!! It's amazing what you can do with LED's these days. Once I saw them, I had to have them for my DJ desk!The tape is 3M so they stick easily in place - I was careful to follow the instructions. It's worth getting a piece of string the same length as the lights and sticking that in place first to see what the fit is like before you start applying these lights.Once fitted they look a treat! Definitely a conversation starter! I love them!

The lights do exactly what it's advertised, installation is ok sometimes temperamental but after a couple of floors works will. I have 5 of these in my house and works well with Alexa most of the time an occasional hiccup but nothing to bad. Haven't really had chance to do a full review of all the settings yet but I will get there. I haven't yet understood how to change to microphone setting in a scene or group via the app yet but I am hoping the app will be updated continually. Great buy in my opinion. Not looked at the 10m options yet but I may in the future.

These are seriously good lights, LIFX are in trouble with these on the market.Only thing to complaint is the strip is advertised as not cuttable but that is not true.Like any other led strip it has the 3 gold lines every 10cm or so where you can cut it to size and it works as normal.* also you can reconnect the lights (as shown in picture) all i did was get a normal 4 pin led connector and remove one of the end wires so there is only 3 wires left, the govee strip was not quite wide enough so i bent the connectors in the plastic housing to match the govee strip and closed it up with the strip working as it should in all areas.I think the seller tells people that it can not be cut and reconnected because in therory you could cut a long strip into multiple pieces, add a cheap 12v led transformer on each piece and it will all be controlled by the same app / first light, but this would be really bad for govee business and we would be left with only the expensive alternatives.* Please do not wire up these lights how i did unless you are confident with electrics, if you got the strips the wrong way around it could be a fire risk, but by all means anyone can cut along the gold lines (if nit in a high humidity area / outside.
