Great for protection
Does the job i was at a skatepark and my bike dropped into a concrete pit and landed on the back shifter but it was still ok because this protector took all the impact and bent so i bent it back and all was good as new

I actually used this to protect the wiring of a rear wheel hub motor for my electric bike. Had to enlarge the hole using a 31/64th" drill, then it fits well. Solid construction. No fears now if the bike were to get laid down.

Useless
Its mounting holes did not come close to aligning with a pair of available threaded holes in my Mongoose 29er MTB nor in friend's Trek 27.5" MTB. I would've given it only one star, but I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt that it couldn't possibly be the wrong part for all MTBs.

This item works great to protect read gear
This item prevent rear gear damage when my daughter's bike fall.

You get what you pay for.
The stamped piece of metal was not finished, so all the edges were rough and sharp. The weld spots were also rough.I had to take a metal file to the back to smooth out the metal and avoid scratching my frame.

Hole was a little small.
I drilled out the hole and put it on to help protect my e-bikes wires in case of a spill.
