I bought this and the TowerRex organizer to take to Thanksgiving this year. It could possibly be the best money I have ever spent on something for entertainment. It isn't easy to learn and takes time to grasp some concepts. However, the reward of sitting down to play with friends/family and adventure through the campaign is goosebump inducing. Start a campaign with a dedicated group who will stick with it over time. You'll be itching to get together and progress further as the game evolves unlocking new classes, events, scenarios, items... it's almost head spinning.It's like a tactical, cooperative, choose your own adventure book, where choices will unlock progress options then present hard choices. Which if you follow the rules changes the direction of the story permanently. You definitely need someone invested enough to keep track of the over-all narrative and understand when cards are removed from the campaign or placed at the bottom of the deck (road events, city events etc).The game is not for the faint of heart. It can take .5 to 1 hour just to set up, then decide what scenario you'd like to tackle. This is after you've spent the time learning the game, dynamics, combat, choices, and come up with a system for recording your items, attack modifiers etc. All that investment though can create deep and rewarding experiences for your group as you struggle to decided on things like helping people, robbing people, and the morality of other significant choices.If you can muster the commitment that this game demands it will take you on a engrossing journey that you will think about even when you aren't playing the game. I hope you enjoy it as much as my group has!
