Works on 14mm pipe too!
Standard pipe diameter in UK is 15mm: in France it's 14mm, but shower fittings are for 12mm or 16mm pipe though shower bars are BSP fittings(?!?). Noticed that most 14mm compression fittings in diy stores there are fabricated in Italy and Spain and actually fit 15mm pipe, so I bought these to fit myself. Easy to fit, neat, and the cheapest and best fixing solution I could find. Brilliant!

Retrofitting a shower/bath mixer
I wanted to retrofit a bath/shower mixer tap on my tiled wall without removing any tiles and without chasing copper pipes etc. inside the wall. These little brackets were perfect for the job - I just drilled a couple of holes in the tile where the pipes would come through, fed some flexible PEX pipe through the holes and out the skirting board under the bath, then fitted these brackets on the front of the tiles which allowed me to mount the mixer tap.Initially I just used the two screws and some wall plugs to hang each bracket, however the tap had a slight wobble to it - this was because the wall plugs were not flush with the tile. I used a Stanley knife to make the plugs flush and for extra reassurance I added some No More Nails adhesive to the back of each bracket. Now the tap is solid on the wall with no wobble. One tiny complaint - the protruding threads which your tap screws onto are quite long and therefore depending on your tap, a small bit of thread might still be visible when your tap is mounted. In my case I was using a Grohe mixer tap and about 2mm of thread is still visible. Probably using a thinner washer (or no washer at all!) inside the tap would solve the issue but it's not a big deal.

Easy to install when replacing an old shower mixer valve
The old showr mixer valve relied on a screwed wall fixing at the back of the valve body. The new thermostatic valve (like most modern types is held by the incoming feed pipes only. I was concerned that this would not be sturdy enough (although my plumber said that they would probsbly be secure enough by the inlet pipes being 'braced' against the wall tiling by the screwed valve covers). These fitted easily over the existing inlet pipes and provide a very secure fixing to the wall (again covered and hidden by the screwed valve covers). Execellent solution to what could have been a problem over time!

Does the job!
Bought this when swapping over my shower, new fittings to speed up the process. These fittings arrives sharpish, easy to install, quality fittings, no leaks! Compression is good. Happy with this purchase.

No instructions
Looks like a good bit of kit but they could have at least put some instructions in there saying how far the 15mm pipe comes out the wall for fitting the fixings..is it 15mm, 20mm, 22mm..who knows.
